This is the ‘original’ Christmas tree and for some people the only tree. The Norway is a beautiful tree when tended to properly. But, because it looses its needles people shy away. Needle retention can be helped by leaving the tree outside for as long as possible and then making sure a water retaining stand is used so it can be watered every day. Commercial needle holding sprays are not very effective. The Norway spruce make wonderful outside display trees.

The Noble Fir is often classed as THE Christmas tree. It has thick, soft, blue-green needles that have excellent needle retention properties and a beautiful fragrance. This is the most favoured tree in America and is becoming increasingly popular over here due to the great needle retention and the lovely fresh citrus fragrance. The shiny dark flat green needles are short and soft, an ideal tree for all members of the family to decorate.
